This case study introduces a project for a Sichuan pepper packaging production line. Sichuan pepper is a popular spice known for its unique flavor and numbing sensation. Packaging such small, light particles requires precision to ensure each package contains the correct amount. Traditional manual packaging methods are time-consuming and prone to errors, making automated packaging machines a valuable investment for businesses in the spice industry.
When this customer approached us, the first solution we considered was a vertical packaging machine(vffs). This machine can produce the desired back-sealed bag packaging, with stable performance and simple operation, meeting the customer’s requirements.
Next, we employed a ten-head weigher for the weighing process. This equipment can accurately measure the weight of the Sichuan pepper, and the ten heads significantly speed up the weighing process. Finally, a Z-type feeding machine was used. The customer was satisfied with this solution.

- Z-type upper hopper（Vibrating feeder bucket conveying system）：This conveyor is suitable for vertical lifting of grain materials in corn, food, feed, chemical and other departments. The hopper of the elevator is driven by a chain. It is used for vertical feeding of grains or small pieces of materials. It has the advantages of large lifting capacity and high height. In addition, the conveyor chain and all gears are thickened, which makes the operation more stable and low noise. The conveying hopper adopts a semi-hook design to avoid leakage or hopper falling. The whole machine is fully enclosed and clean.
This package is also suitable for: candy, sunflower seeds, potato chips, pistachios, peanuts, jelly, quick-frozen dumplings, biscuits, chocolate, nuts, pet food, puffed food and other grains, potato chips, ingredients weighing of strips or irregular shapes, small metal parts and plastic parts, etc.

Process of the Packaging Production Line
At this time, you may ask, what is the packaging process of the machine? How to ensure that the customer’s packaging process goes smoothly?
Next, we will explain it to you in detail， The process of the entire packaging line is as follows:
- Material Feeding:
The spices are loaded into the machine’s Z-type feeding hopper, then the Z-type conveyor distributes the product to the ten-head weigher.
- Weighing:
The ten-head weigher accurately measures the required amount of Sichuan pepper for each bag. Each head can operate independently, allowing for high-speed and precise weighing.
- Bag Formation:
The vertical packaging machine forms bags from a roll of packaging film. The film is pulled down by the machine and formed into a tube, which is sealed along the edges to create the bag.
- Filling:
Once the bag is formed, the pre-weighed Sichuan pepper is dispensed into the bag. The synchronized operation between the weigher and the packaging machine ensures seamless filling without spillage.
- Sealing:
After filling, the bag is sealed at the top. The machine can create various types of seals (e.g., pillow, gusseted) depending on the packaging requirements.
- Cutting:
The filled and sealed bags are then cut to separate them from the continuous roll of packaging film. The machine can be adjusted to create bags of different lengths as needed.
- Output:
The finished bags are collected on a conveyor belt, ready for further packaging or direct distribution.
After the production was completed, we delivered our vertical pouch packing machine to the customer after a long journey. The customer was very satisfied with the packaging equipment.
